DYONMED Nefro Test
DyonMed Nefro Test® is an easy-to-use, highly accurate rapid self-test designed to detect microalbumin (protein) levels in the urine. Acting as an early warning system for kidney function, it helps identify potential kidney damage long before symptoms appear. This test is especially crucial for individuals managing diabetes, hypertension, or those with a family history of kidney disease, offering peace of mind from the comfort of home.

The DyonMed Nefro Test® uses an advanced immunochromatographic method to semi-quantitatively detect Microalbuminuria (MAU) in human urine. Healthy kidneys effectively filter waste from the blood while keeping essential proteins, like albumin, inside the body. When kidneys are slightly damaged, very small amounts of this protein begin to leak into the urine—a condition known as microalbuminuria.
Because early-stage kidney disease often has no symptoms, routine screening is essential. Detecting MAU early allows for timely medical intervention, which can often slow down or even reverse kidney damage.
Key Advantages:
- Early Detection: Identifies kidney issues at the earliest possible stage, often years before significant damage occurs.
- High Sensitivity: Accurately detects very low levels of albumin in the urine (typically starting at 20 mg/L).
- Crucial for High-Risk Groups: An essential monitoring tool for diabetics and hypertensive patients who are at a higher risk for nephropathy.
- Fast and Simple: Delivers clear, easy-to-read results in just a few minutes, with no laboratory equipment needed.
How to Use the DyonMed Nefro Test®:
- Collect a fresh urine sample in a clean, dry container. For the most accurate results, it is recommended to use the first morning urine.
- Remove the test cassette from its sealed pouch and place it on a flat, clean surface.
- Using the provided dropper, draw up the urine sample.
- Hold the dropper vertically and squeeze exactly 3 drops of urine into the sample well (S) on the test cassette.
- Start a timer and wait for the colored lines to appear. Read the results at exactly 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes.
Interpretation of Results:
- NEGATIVE (Normal): Two distinct colored lines appear. One line in the Control area (C) and one line in the Test area (T). This indicates that the microalbumin concentration is below the cutoff level (normal kidney function).
- POSITIVE (Abnormal): Only one colored line appears in the Control area (C). No line appears in the Test area (T). This indicates the presence of microalbumin above the normal threshold, suggesting potential kidney dysfunction.
- INVALID: The Control line (C) fails to appear. The test is invalid, and you should repeat the process with a new test cassette.
Package Contents:
- 1x Microalbumin Rapid Test Cassette

A positive result indicates an elevated level of protein in the urine, which is an early sign of kidney stress or damage. However, temporary increases in microalbumin can also be caused by intense physical exercise, urinary tract infections, fever, or certain medications. A positive test result must always be confirmed and evaluated by a healthcare professional. Please consult your doctor for a formal diagnosis and do not make any medical decisions based solely on this test. Keep out of reach of children.
- Annual screening for microalbuminuria is internationally recommended by health organizations for all patients with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, as well as individuals with high blood pressure.
- Early detection and subsequent medical management (such as blood pressure control and dietary changes) can significantly reduce the progression of diabetic nephropathy.
- This is an in-vitro diagnostic self-test strictly for personal use.
