The DyonMed ComboRSV Rapid Test® utilizes advanced immunochromatographic technology to quickly distinguish between four major respiratory viruses that share nearly identical clinical symptoms (such as fever, cough, fatigue, and nasal congestion).

During the flu and cold season, clinical evaluation alone is often not enough to determine which virus is responsible for an infection. By using a single nasal or nasopharyngeal swab, this test accurately isolates the specific viral antigens, allowing for timely and targeted medical management.

How to Use the DyonMed ComboRSV Rapid Test®:

1. Carefully insert the sterile swab into the nostril to collect the nasal or nasopharyngeal sample as described in the instructions.
2. Place the swab into the extraction buffer tube, rotate it several times to mix the sample thoroughly, and squeeze the sides of the tube while removing the swab to extract as much liquid as possible.
3. Attach the dropper tip firmly onto the extraction tube.
4. Invert the tube and add exactly 3 drops of the extracted sample into each sample well (S) of the test cassette.
5. Start the timer and read the results at exactly 15 minutes. Do not interpret the results after 20 minutes.

Interpretation of Results:

• POSITIVE: The Control line (C) appears, AND one or more Test lines (T) appear corresponding to specific viruses (e.g., SARS-CoV-2, Flu A, Flu B, or RSV). Even a faint Test line should be considered positive.
• NEGATIVE: Only the Control line (C) appears across the test windows. No lines appear in any of the Test (T) regions.
• INVALID: The Control line (C) fails to appear. The test is invalid, usually due to insufficient sample volume or procedural error, and must be repeated.

This test is an in-vitro diagnostic tool. Proper sample collection is absolutely critical for an accurate result; inadequate sample collection may yield false-negative results. A positive result indicates the presence of viral antigens, but clinical correlation with patient history and other diagnostic information is necessary to determine infection status. A negative result does not completely rule out viral infection and should not be used as the sole basis for treatment or patient management decisions. Always consult a healthcare professional.
